Full Program of the Event (Citizen Science Explorers Program in Green)
The Citizen Science Explorers Program consists of:
1) Short Talks: These are a series of TED-like talks by leading researchers and scientists. Each talk will provide the scientific context of the citizen science activities. They will provide an overview of the research area and why it is interesting. These will also be posted online for convenient viewing.
2) Pop-up workshops: These provide an opportunity for people to experience what it is like to be a "Citizen Scientists" in a small yet effective way. Participants would be assisting in real projects and assist in collecting valuable data necessary for the project.
3) Science Kits: These kits complement the Pop-up Workshops by explaining exactly how to participate in the data collecting activities. For some activities, there will only be a limited number of kits available. Some will require purchase of low-cost materials.
