Lisha Sterling from Geeks Without Bounds (lisha@gwob.org) and Paul Mason from Scotland Hacks are gathering resources to launch a Science Hack Day in Glasgow in the Autumn of 2013.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
If you would like to get involved, pose a challenge, or sponsor the event, please contact Lisha.
UPDATE: Scotland Hacks will be organizing 2 Science Hack Days in the next few months.
Kids' Science Hack Day in July
Scotland Hacks is partnering with SQA to offer a Kids Science Hack Day dealing with Space, based on lessons learned this April during the youth program we ran locally for the International Space Apps Challenge combined with a previous school-based program developed by Paul Mason that he ran with colleagues for several years when he worked full time as a teacher. This is everything you'd expect from a hack day -- hands-on making and creativity -- with an extra dose of mentorship to support our young science hackers.
Bigger Science Hack Day in September
This will be a more general hack day with simultaneous programs for teens and adults, and resources permitting, we'll run a simultaneous event for younger children as well.
